Chat Box 2 is a macOS network chat for show comms between Front of House and stage racks. Open the app, pick a name, and you’re chatting with anyone else running it on the same network—no IP settings required, as broadcast is on by default.

When you need more control, Chat Box 2 also supports direct addressing. Add specific IPs to run over Wi-Fi and in managed network setups without fuss, you can then share these IPs to all connected machines so you only need to set up one machine for a full system.

As well as simple text chat Chat Box allows users to send a Call and be informed when, and by whom the Call has been acknowledged. Calls are sent to all users with the Call button or by holding SHIFT when sending a message. At any Point during a conversation in Chat Box any user may ask who is online and receive a full list of connected machines. Presets are unlimited, and you can assign them to function keys for quick, repeatable messages. you can even chain presets by signing them to the same key. you might "fault on mic" assigned to F1 - F5 and then have an actors name assigned to each F button. pushing F1 would show "fault on mic [actor]"

other features include Auto Hide, Auto Clear, Default reply, and various other features aimed at making Chat Box 2 fit perfectly in to your show.
